Anneversary

2 years seems like a short time when spent with such a great person as Rachel. Here are some photos of anniversary festivities.

Garden Update

The square foot garden is almost planted completely, I still have 2 cells to plant. I'm not sure what I will put in them.

Lunch from the Woods

Who would have throught that two young men, a walk in the woods, and some crazy ideas from India would have resulted in an amazing lunch?

Gathering Stinging Nettle leaves


Into the pot and boiled until completely wilted to destroy the silica needles that deliver a sting.

The Water from boiling nettles makes a good, micronutrent rich tea:
And, finally, into the pot for an amazing Nettle Currey:

The recipe:

200 gm nettles, boiled

1 can tomatoes plus green chilies

2 links mango chicken sausage

½-1 onion

½ cup mozzarella cheese

2 garlic cloves

ginger

garam masala

tumric

coriander

cumin

chili powder

salt

lime

nuts

Fry the sausage and onion, while boiling the nettles, tomatoes and chillies. Add spices to the sausage and onion skillet. Combine, and serve. Add nuts and Lime to individual servings as garnish.

A trip into the field

A few weeks ago, I got to get out into the area where I will be doing my field work. If you are interested in the details of what I am planning on doing, you can read my research proposal. Here are some of the more interesting pictures from the trip:

Windy Sunset

Geography:

These are the geographers over at Simon Fraser University. They are the kind of people I get to hang out with.



Note, these seem to be all human geographers. Just wait until you mix physical geography (my discipline) in with it and see how interesting it gets.

Wistler

My parents and Rachel and I caught a little last minute (thank goodness, knock on wood) bit of winter with a trip up to whistler a couple of weeks ago. Here are photos.
